iGas USA is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with at least 5 years of hands-on experience working on trucks and trailers. Our fleet transports refrigerants, a specialized cargo that requires strict safety, regulatory, and maintenance standards. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, drivetrains, braking systems, and electrical components, with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance and DOT inspections to ensure vehicles transporting refrigerants remain compliant and safe
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems
- Ensure all vehicles meet DOT, OSHA, and EPA safety standards, especially those related to hazardous materials transport
- Maintain accurate service and repair logs in compliance with federal and company requirements
- Order necessary parts, manage inventory, and coordinate with vendors for timely repairs
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform field service repairs when needed
- Stay updated on diesel technology, repair procedures, and regulatory changes affecting hazardous cargo transportation
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic for trucks and trailers
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines and electronic systems
- Hands-on experience with transmissions, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, and emissions systems
- Electrical knowledge (wiring, sensors, diagnostics, repairs)
- Experience maintaining vehicles used for hazmat or specialized cargo strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and compliance documentation
- Valid driver's license (CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required)
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
